Thomas O'Brien Collection Design: TOB978A Naga
The antique textile that inspired the wool and silk Naga rug by Thomas O’Brien for Safavieh is a rare Ming Dynasty Tibetan carpet that O’Brien acquired at auction. Bold, huge dragons dominate the original carpet in cream and brown. O’Brien loved the elongated shaping and fine drawing of the dragons, while choosing to interpret their graphic form into a softer pattern with pale tone-on-tone shades.
