This carpet is adapted from an antique Chinese carpet that has been a source of pattern work for O’Brien different ways over the years. For this design he took a section of vine and turned it into a full field of stylized, silhouetted blossom shapes. Like the Batik carpet from his first collection, this variation is about turning a floral into a repeating graphic. Soft pale colorways bring the carpet into a modern mood, in minty celadon, beige with pale ocean, or grey with lavender taupe.
