Following on the success of O’Brien’s earlier Moroccan and batik-influenced rugs, this new carpet blends the two styles in a classical paneled layout set with beautiful medallions. The figures recall more tribal Caucasian motifs as well, while the frames, and the border of the entire carpet, are filled with intricate filigree. An ideal carpet, recommends O’Brien, for the dining room or library. Colorful neutrals produce light and dark variations: a wool ivory with gold and khaki green silk, pale ocean green with black and khaki, or dark bronze in the back with pale ocean and beige.
