In a subtropical climate surrounded by chiseled mountains sits one of Europe’s deepest, bluest lakes. Its shores are dotted with centuries-old quaint towns and luxurious family villas that brim with the elegance of bygone eras. Since the early days of the Roman Empire, this lake has attracted poets, philosophers, cardinals, royalty (actual and Hollywood) and lovers. The area is so undeniably romantic that Hungarian composer Franz Liszt once famously declared: “When you write the story of two happy lovers, let the story be set on the banks of Lake Como.” Recently, two happy lovers—one hailing from Dubai the other from Lebanon—chose the renowned lakefront Villa Il Balbiano for their wedding celebration and shared some of their favorite photos with Safavieh Style.
