The New Glamour Meets the New Casual at Safavieh
Two major home design trends are creating excitement at Safavieh. One is the New Glamour, a style influenced by the Art Deco designs of Paris and Hollywood in the 1930s. Luxury materials, ranging from Alcantara to zebrawood, are used lavishly in furniture that is sleek and sensuous, rich but not ornate. The style is embodied in Safavieh’s made-in-Italy Phantom Collection and our new Safavieh Continental Collection. The other trend that’s making waves is the New Casual. It’s characterized by organic materials and natural finishes, representing another kind of hand-crafted luxury. On the pages that follow you’ll see both styles, as exemplified in our highly tailored Continental Collection and the casually elegant designs of Barclay Butera.

FIRST BLUSH In this pretty living room, the upholstered sofa and chair are by Safavieh Couture. The wood-andmetal end table is by Theodore Alexander, and the modernist coffee table is by Vanguard. Painting by Wendover. The wool rug is from Safavieh’s Centennial Collection. Photographed at Safavieh’s Livingston, New Jersey, flagship store.

REFLECTIONS OF GLAMOUR White and gold set the tone for this sophisticated room setting. The Gideon armchair, Carleton mirror, Stanley sideboard and Carter end table are all from the new Safavieh Continental Collection. The gold leaf table lamp is by Arteriors, and the Savala framed shadow box artwork is by Uttermost. Photographed at Safavieh’s Glen Cove, New York, flagship store.

DESIGNER DINING Two complementary models of chair surround the Stockton dining table: the tufted back Kingston side chair and the shield back Helena armchair. All of these pieces, as well as the Cedric console and Duncan mirror, are from Safavieh’s exclusive Continental Collection. Photographed at Safavieh’s Glen Cove, New York, flagship store.

TRIP TO PROVENCE Carved, painted and gilded, a French Provincial chest is matched with a plank dining table and linen-covered chair for a casually elegant, country look. The furniture is by Eloquence. Ceramic lamp by Uttermost. Photographed at Safavieh’s Glen Cove, New York, flagship store.

STAFFORDSHIRE BLUE The Avery wing chair by Barclay Butera for Lexington recalls the landscapes depicted on 19th century English tableware. The chair is complemented by the Mercer sofa and the Breakwater metal-and-stone cocktail table, also by Barclay Butera. Blue-and-white pillows by Safavieh and Indigo Spray wall art by Wendover complete this casual, coastal setting. Photographed at Safavieh’s Glen Cove, New York, flagship store.

COASTAL CHARM The shoreline theme of this dining room is reflected in the names of the pieces—the Seacliff host wing chair, Eastbluff upholstered side chair, Oceanfront dining table and Bayside buffet. All are from Barclay Butera’s Newport Beach Collection for Lexington. The monumental Gilford mirror is by Uttermost. Framed prints by Wendover. Photographed at Safavieh’s Glen Cove, New York, flagship store.

COCKTAIL HOUR The glamorous Gina sunburst mirror presides over the elegant Connor bar and sexy Wellington bench, all of which are influenced by the Art Deco movement and part of the new Safavieh Continental Collection. Framed art is from Wendover’s Underwater Dream Collection. The tone-on-tone wool rug is by Safavieh. Photographed at Safavieh’s Glen Cove, New York, flagship store.

INNER SANCTUM Richly figured wood and rose gold trim distinguish this curvaceous bed by Caricole. The overdye rug and cashmere throw are by Safavieh. Painting by Wendover. The crystal chandelier is Safavieh Couture. Photographed at Safavieh’s Livingston, New Jersey, flagship store.
