1914 Safavieh is founded in Isfahan in the Kingdom of Persia.

1936 Hamid Yaraghi opens an antique furniture store in Isfahan.

1951 Hamid Yaraghi joins his father in the Safavieh rug business.

1978 Arash and Cyrus Yaraghi open the Safavieh showroom at 32nd Street and Madison Avenue in New York City.

1988 Safavieh opens a huge oriental rug gallery in Stamford, Connecticut.

1995 The total home furnishings gallery debuts in Stamford.

2005 Safavieh opens its retail furniture gallery and design center in Glen Cove, New York.

2005 Safavieh opens in Danbury Fair Mall, the first of our five-star stores in shopping malls.

2006 On Broadway in Manhattan, the 100,000-square-foot flagship store opens.

2008 Safavieh opens its lifestyle superstore in Livingston, New Jersey.

2011 The rug licensing program with Ralph Lauren is unveiled.

2013 Safavieh Couture, a total lifestyle brand, debuts.

2014 Safavieh Home Furnishings opens a retail gallery in Hartsdale, New York.

2014 In Farmingdale, New York, the first store selling exclusively Safavieh and Safavieh Couture brands opens.
